Lino's got some little nitpicky things here and there, so I feel like Riverdale would be a very interesting show to throw Lino into. There's certainly going to be a little bit of a twist in there for sure, something that Riverdale fans just have not seen before, I'm sure. I feel like Lino could be pretty fun in Riverdale. If you could see Lino dropped into any other show in The CW library, where would you want to see him? He does some pretty fun to make sure that he's part of something. That being said, he loves to be a part of the group because, really, what he loves. As this show progresses, you will see him kind of take his journey on his own, away from Tom.

When he's left out, he definitely feels like, "What am I here for? What's my point?" So he loves being included in a lot of the Tom things, but Lino got his own journey. I think it also gives him more of a sense of where he belongs. He wants to be a part of whatever Tom's got going on. Lino does get wrapped up a lot the Tom nonsense, but I think he wants to. How often will we see Lino in the field with whatever nonsense Tom is having to deal with this week, or will he be primarily grounded in the more down-to-earth storylines? It's just a little bit of that hostile dynamic but not necessarily out of hatred, more out of love. He kind of steps away and distances himself, so it is an older brother/younger brother type of relationship, but obviously, they're very close. There's a little more defiance, and it starts to layer, it starts to build because there are things that Lino wants to talk about with Tom that Tom just doesn't have time for, and that upsets Lino.Īs time progresses, he ultimately will just kind of step away. Lino is growing into being a little more impatient with him. Tian and I have definitely had a lot of fun bouncing back and forth in terms of conflict because, at the very beginning, it's very light. How much fun is it to have someone like Tian Richards as a scene partner? So much of your role on the show is bouncing off Lino's adopted brother, Tom.

RELATED: Supernatural: Jensen Ackles' Prequel Series The Winchesters Scores A Pilot Order I mean, he is 16 years old, so that is really where he starts to question his morals, where he comes from, and again, kind of defying what he's told to do. He's a fun-loving kid, but again, there is that undertone of, "Where do I belong? Who do I belong to? Who is my family? I have no clue." As the season progresses, and as the show progresses, you see him grow to be open to asking the challenging questions, and really becoming more of a defiant teenager, which he's at that age. Again, he kind of centralizes and brings everybody together in the cast and in the show. It's more of an underlying layer to his character. That's something I stepped out of my comfort zone to really establish within this character and not make it so noticeable. I guess that's something that's going to be very interesting for me to explore because I grew up in a lovely household with both my parents. I mean, there's always been an empty space for him when it comes to family. So Lino is typically very grounded, but he does have that sense of not really belonging. What are you most excited to dive into with the character? While audiences are going to be excited to see Tom fight whatever organization is moving behind the scenes, they'll probably relate to the more grounded drama of your character, Lino. not overwhelming responsibility, but there's definitely a level of I got to make sure that I'm doing my part as a character and as a performer to make sure that I'm doing this role justice I mean, you see The Flash on The CW, Nancy Drew, and all these DC things as well, so it's really, really cool because when I was a kid growing up and watching these shows, I was like, "I want to be there one day." I just said it very generally, not knowing if I would ever land on something like that, but here I am. The CW universe is so broad, and there's so many different opportunities that can come and stem from this. What is it like as a performer to join something like that?ĭonovin Miller: Well, I always say that this is definitely a big stepping stone for me as a person and my craft because this is such a cool thing to be a part of. 1&void 0!=arguments?arguments:"ERROR" console.log(" ").CBR: The CW family of shows has such a dedicated fanbase - we're getting Tom Swift as a spin-off from Nancy Drew entirely because of that fandom and their response to that character in her show.
